Located in a coastal park opposite Ramírez beach, the building that houses the School of Engineering of the University of the Republic exhibits an imposing and austere reinforced concrete façade. It features simple lines and wide and functional spaces, as well as an exceptional view, because of the high land on which it is sited.

Architect Julio Vilamajó designed this building in the modern style in 1936. It was fully completed and opened in 1953.
