Contributions to national audiovisual productions

MONTEVIDEO AUDIOVISUAL PARTNER

This program is managed by the Montevideo Film Locations Office of the Municipality of Montevideo in accordance with Decree No. 30,820 of the City Council of Montevideo, in July 2004. The money of the fund comes basically from the proceeds of the public entertainment tax imposed on cinematographic exhibitions, and also from fees charged for the use of public spaces in advertising shootings.

The program makes returnable contributions to national audiovisual productions whatever their destination (cinema or television) and their format, fiction or documentary, and having a duration greater than 45 minutes. The office has two lines of financing for national productions. A call for proposals is issued twice a year, in February and August, approximately.

MONTEVIDEO SHOOTS FOUND

This Found makes contributions to national audiovisual productions of fiction or documentary, having a duration greater than 45 minutes, whatever their destination (cinema or television), for those filming projects that are in beginning stage of shooting. A call for proposals is issued twice a year, in February and August, approximately.

The projects must be submitted by a Uruguayan film producing company and the director can be either Uruguayan or a foreigner with at least three years of residence in the country.
